Over the last 8 years we have worked hard to become an inclusive club for all. This has seen us be awarded Volleyball England's Clubmark to Volley 2 standard. Only 9 volleyball clubs in the country have achieved this illustrious award. This award give us access to further funding, support and advice from Volleyball England and Sport Hampshire and IOW. However, as a club, at Team Southampton we don't like to rest on our laurels. At present we are looking to build 3 beach volleyball courts at our main training venue of Crestwood College. These beach posts were given to us by Volleyball England and were used at the Olympics in London 2012. Another fantastic development which we are presently setting up is a sitting volleyball team. There are only 11 sitting teams in the country. We want to create team which will challenge on the national Grand Prix circuit next season.
As you can see this is an exciting time for us and our desire to develop volleyball in the Eastleigh and Southampton region. I adamantly believe that Team Southampton is a club where people of all ages can come and enjoy their volleyball at any level. We can find a place for all within our club. From those who want to try a new sport, to those who want to play at the highest levels, Team Southampton is for you!
Want to come and try volleyball?
Get a bit of exercise after a busy week?
Or just play for fun?
Then our club night is ideal! Come along on a Mondays between 7-9pm, at Eastleigh College, and just jump straight in. There are club coaches on hand to help develop your skills. Then why not stay and just play some volleyball. This is an ideal session for beginners, social players and those looking to get back into the sport.
Summer Playing Outside
In the summer months we decamp and head out onto the grass to enjoy the warm evenings. You will find us on the grass recreational areas alongside Fleming Park Leisure Centre. We are there from 7-9pm and then go for a well earned drink at the The Cricketers Pub.
Many people will have played volleyball sometime in their lives. Be it at school or on the beach while on holiday. But what are the benefits of giving volleyball a go?
- A great social sport
- Challenges you to learn new skills
- Great fitness work out
- Very easy to pick up the basics
- Have fun, make new friends and get fit all in one!
- You might find out that you are good at it and want to take it further
The first session is free! Give me a call on 07825557624, contact us, or just turn up!
